With this article published on the blog signoradeifiltri.overblog.com with my imagination I had the pleasure of meeting Jackson Pollock one of my favorite artists. For this occasion I made him get on board my old Fiat 500 a car, all you will read of course is fictional and if any reader wants to get on board for another artistic appointment, please ask on board the imagination there is room for all.
I turn the key  and the Fiat 500 starts muttering. My dear readers, I'm going to the appointment with Jackson Pollock today. We will interview the artist on board of my Fiat 500 from 1962. Despite the age, it is equipped with various comforts, well-padded seats in swordfish leather, internal ventilation system with fifteen fragrances including, whiskey, hippopotamus cheese, grandfather's bitter and sour apple. On board we have the espresso machine, and chocolates of all tastes.  Jackson Pollock is on time and he is reading the newspaper.

- Hi, Jack!

- Hey, you finally arrived, you made me read the announcements of marriage!

- Jack, please close the door slowly,  last time Guttuso pulled the handle off. Where are we going? Do we wander around?

- Okay, but turn on the heating that I'm cold!

- Jackson, I ask you the first question and you don't have to answer me ... Did you stop drinking?

- Ahaahah ! ... Oh yes, since I met you I have only drank espresso and beer and gazzosa!

- Very good, next question, is it true that you traded one of your works for a motorcycle?

- Ah, yes it was a Matchless and then I challenged the Indians on horseback in the desert, they always won and so I left it to them in exchange for a pipe and some strange stuff to smoke.

- Did you quit smoking?

- I hate you! Ahahah, I've also quit smoking since I met you!

- Well, do you want to talk about dripping?

- Of course, but first offer me a coffee.

The machine comes out of the drawer of my 500 and it is ready, five minutes and coffee will be in the cup.

- A lot of things have been said about your technique, traces of existentialism, Buddhist philosophy, Zen, introspection, shamanism.

- All urban legends, I painted without an easel because I wanted to be free. Going around the canvas was like traveling the world, the freedom to see and do different things. I felt in balance with the space and then there was also a lot of musicality in my opera. Going around the canvas was a bit like dancing, it was me with my whole being embraced to the material without any hindrance, no obstacles, no borders. And I had more fun,  easy, wasn't it?

- You drove the critics crazy.

- Oh yes, they were too tied to old patterns and with me they literally didn't understand anything, because I drunk them with color, I swept them with a disruptive pictorial action.

- They accused you of being chaotic and random.

- Oh yes, but they were so conditioned by their inner ghosts that they didn't want to detach themselves from their present. In short, they were afraid to become children and see art as something extremely natural.

- Do you consider yourself lucky?

- Why not? I found myself in the right place at the right time but I think I deserved it.

- If you went back what would you not do?

- I don't know, let's say I was living day by day, but I can tell you what I wanted to do, instead.

- Yeah, what?

- Dilute the colors  with Cocacola. Other questions?

- The last one: would you have liked to have long hair?

- Oh yes, long on the shoulders and blond like Marilyn. I would have had some problems adjusting them with dirty hands but imagine Jackson Pollock with long hair!

- Would you like to drive the 500?

- Mmh... It's better you guide and I take a nap.

And while we let Jackson Pollock rest, dear readers, Walter Festuccia greets you and awaits you at the next interview with an artist.
