#music   Music styles evolve and as we grow older, we tend to think that what we hear is better than young people listen to today.
As we age, those songs that were “hits” during our adolescence remain popular with people of our age. Some studies suggest that as we grow older, our mind becomes worse when it comes to making distinctions between different chords, rhythms and melodies. Therefore, people of a certain age have the feeling “that all new music sounds the same”.
When we are young, we are much more up to date on what musical news are, partly because we have more free time. But from the 30s, work and family obligations make it harder for us to find time to discover new music so we prefer to listen to what we already know..
All this could explain why the songs we hear during this period become so memorable and loved.
