If I wanted to write another test report for eco webshop Kudzu? Of course! And so I tested one of theirGeies-storage boxes made of bioplastic based on sugar cane.
increasing and more producers are looking for renewable sources Even toy manufacturer Lego searched for and found an alternative to the 100% plastic cubes as we know them now. But what is that bioplastic?
The storage box I tested is made of bio-polyethylene from sugar cane. The advantage is that this is a renewable raw material that — unlike fossil fuels — is reproduced and quite easy to produce. That makes the box bio-based, but unfortunately not necessarily environmentally friendly.
Bio-based is also not automatically equivalent to biodegradable. Bio-polyethylene does have a natural origin, but is not compostable and can therefore only be recycled like 'ordinary' PMD.
How beautiful the term Bioplastic also sounds like: there are snakes. If you want to learn more about this, I would like to refer to OVAM: https://www.ovam.be/bioplastics.

While reusable vegetable bags are now standard in my shopping bag, the
storage box requires a little more discipline not to forget when you go to the market or other packaging-free stores. box as much as other boxes and it can handle both the dishwasher and the freezer. Since there is no charcuterie on
the table, we only tested it for cheese and found it convenient and compact. In this respect, reusable packaging — luckily — are increasingly part of the 'normal' life. Now that the supermarkets still have...
Who loose packaging material can and wants to save, is certainly helped with the boxes. Kudzu sells them in different sizes and variants and for the price you should not leave it.
