What is Web Browser?

When you hear the word web browser, what comes to your mind? Browsing and internet right! A web browser is that application software for accessing the World Wide Web (WWW).

A web browser takes you anywhere on the internet, it allows you see text, videos and images from anywhere in the world.
It retrieves information from other part of the web and displays it on your desktop or Mobile phone. The information is transferred using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), it defines how text, images and videos are transmitted on the web.

With Google Chrome, it’s possible to manually check a webpage’s total-size by starting an Incognito window (or clearing the cache), opening the DevTools Network tab, and loading the webpage.

Components of a Web Browser

• The User Interface: This includes the address bar, back / forward button, bookmarking menu.

• Rendering engine: responsible for displaying requested content on the screen.
• The Browser engine

• Data storage.

• Mozilla Firefox
• Google chrome.
• Safari
• Opera mini.

• Connect your phone or desktop to the internet.
• Locate the Web Browser on your phone or desktop.
• Click on the icon.
• Once it opens, key in what you intend to search in your web browser.
