Product is a number that you get by multiplying two or more other numbers together. It indicates that two factors should be multiplied together. The order in which real or complex numbers are multiplied has no bearing on the product and this is known as the commutative law of multiplication. When matrices or members of various other associative algebras are multiplied, the products usually depend on the order of the factors. Let us take matrix multiplication for example, it is non-commutative and so is multiplication in other algebras in general as well. There are various types of products in maths, some of these are products of two numbers, products of a sequence, commutative rings, products in linear algebra, Cartesian products, empty products, products over other algebraic structures, and products in category theory.
