Nearly one million mother pigs in the Netherlands are stuck between bars for weeks, where they can barely care for their little ones. Due to the harrowing animal suffering, several European countries have already banned the cages. The Netherlands must now follow.


The minister said that he himself visited a pig farm without cages, which he is enthusiastic about. He doesn't promise an end to the cages yet,


The Inspection Service discovers that fattening pigs have even received a few ribs in the past. The Netherlands exports a lot of pork abroad every year. To produce even more meat, pigs with the best genetic traits are bred so that they have more pigs.
