28-06-2021... Diagnosis Breast Cancer - MRI
I got a call from MammaCentrum that I also had to prick blood prior to the MRI.
If they forgot to say that they had to do so. Well, it was on the road to Radiology anyway, so little effort. I can miss a tube of blood. Net.
For the first time in my life, I believe I was there somewhere more than well in time for an appointment. I was in the mood for it.
I didn't have to be sober before the MRI scan, so my brunch consisted of vodka/cola to drink my courage. And I'm sure they won't test my blood for that.
I guess. I'm going from. I'm guessing. I hope. I'll notice Thursday 😜
While waiting for my turn in the waiting room, I thought I was in the Efteling.
You know that tree troll in the fairytale forest.
When you stand in front of his tree and you listen unsuspectingly to his bazel, the stone suddenly shaking for it. Well, that was exactly what I felt in the waiting room. The ground was shaking and the chair too.
I still looked for that tree troll, but all I saw was a nervous gentleman. Now that troll in the Efteling is a bit of the nervous kind, frankly.
I thought I was well prepared, but somewhere between reading the information and my corridor to the MRI scan, something of memories of that has been lost in my brain. Well, basically everything that has to do with metal.
My sternum is nicely knotted with metal back together during cardiac surgery. I couldn't remove that.
– During the investigation, you should not wear clothes that contain metal. Zippers, buttons etc.
What do I put on, easy pants, as suggested, but I chose one that had two zippers, and a lot of metal buttons. Sure !
The young man provided me with a hospital kit. Such a blue one, which is open in the front.
– Make sure you remove all objects with (noble) metal. Jewellery, piercings, hearing aids, etc.
Well, I did have those hearing aids out, they are just new and I had put a god fullest for that. But I did go well into the MRI with two rings on.
The good man who put the drip on that same arm has also eluded the silver splendor specimens.
When I was shoved into the tunnel, I asked carefully if they could hear me to say that I had my rings on.
Maybe they heard me, but I didn't hear them through the speaker.
So well, my rings have now been scanned. A bit weird feeling though. Just like that vibrating stone, but at pinklevel.
I won't tell you where my piercing is.
You get headphones with music, but it was way too soft for my hearing.
He said a little bit tricky: 'But he can't get harder!’
“I don't either,” I said.
We just left those headphones.
I asked in advance if I could take a picture of the MRI device. Agreed to do so afterwards. But because I was bumping around in such a hospital kit, and if I didn't hold it, I walked in my underpants.
Does not matter, but not.
So it must have looked very funny, because I was sprinting to the dressing room (there was my foondinges) with all the corners and briefs attached to that shirt in my hands so it didn't open. And then bump back to the scan, where the radiologist stood at the door like a police officer, because I was no longer allowed to enter the space due to magnetic field.
Or something.
At least he and his colleague had to laugh. What a.
But I got my picture.
How I found the MRI scan?
Yeah, well, hope of noise and hassle on my ears and somewhere halfway through the sound I ended up in a kind of meditative state, and my beloved singer George Michael came by with his song White Light in this light.
So I couldn't hear the music on the headphones, I could hear the music in my head.
Beautiful (e), man ❣️ ❣️ 😉

I intentionally antidate in the title, to review the chronological order of treatments. (not only for you, but also for myself)
I won't be able to antidate the blog's side effects with tips, advice and links. That's what I'm going to end up making a nice overview folder for anyone who needs it.
