30-10-2021... Hair Loss - Tips - Side Effects Chemo
Hair loss is unfortunately inevitable in women with breast cancer when they get chemo.
I would like to emphasise that the tips I give, I have experienced myself as pleasant, but of course is nothing more than a clue or a handful ness. Everyone experiences it differently, and I try to give as much information as possible, where the hospital is actually lacking in its info. For tips on how to maintain or maintain your hair, I talked about in a previous blog.
Here the link: Hair retention or maintenance tips at Chenezing
In this blog I would like to talk about the possibilities if your hair does fall out, despite using the IceCap, as with me. It was clear for me from day 1 that I want to go for a wig/hairwork. No chemo caps at least. And the term chemomuts arouses resistance to me anyway. Why the hell chemomuts? I use the word BEANIE. Exactly the same, yet a lot happier to hear. Yes, I am sensitive to language !!
But I do need a beanie. Soon when I get surgery, I want a beanie for the night. And maybe during the day. But just how I'm going to feel. So I made two beanies for myself. Of course I don't wear the scarf and brooch at night. Is not going to work out 🤣
For the night I chose t-shirt fabric, but of course the velvet can also be fine, but I want to keep them tidy and clean for daytime.
I would like to add that the top is open even if it is nicely pleated. Because I thought I did it wrong and I pulled it out again. So don't be afraid. It should be.
Video Beanie
You can also crochet or knit a beanie.
Witch beanie 🤪
You can also choose a scarf in addition to a beanie.
Below I have chosen two videos of how to tie a scarf. There are many on YouTube, so go snooping around.

And one more!
Now I'm an impatient when there's a lot of fawn. is in a video, but I can't understand the video below (Spanish), so hoppa at speed 2. Can via settings. It is a video where fun scarves are explained.

So now I've picked out a wig for everyday life. You can choose between synthetic hair and real hair. The latter is expensive. Very expensive. And if that's worth the money for the short period you need it.? I wasn't talking about it anyway.
I got a address from the hospital for a commercial hairwork specialist. My girlfriend and I go there. I've written about it before, that our first meeting wasn't great. As mentioned before, I am sensitive to language.
I'll copy and paste from a previous blog:
- I was shot in resistance pretty quickly during our conversation. I understand that you want to explain how and what, but simply telling me that she was going to shave me with the tongue-bald, to say the least I found a bit too early at the stage of my chenezing.
Not everyone realizes it, but words carry an energy. For the family, read BaldShaving and HairCut out loud.
At least I didn't pull it. Tondeuze — Bald Shaving.
I feel vulnerable and I am very aware of it, without getting out of the snow. -
The second date was a lot cozier, because she had to order curly wig. This is the wig I picked out in the end. I wasn't thrilled, but it's a nicer. Whether I wanted to tap ff 900, — and some more euros. Exclusive maintenance of 70 euros. Now I had my hair at the time, so I could order it on call. I didn't have to pay yet. Neat service!!
And that's where we get an important piece. The insurance. Our basic package includes a wig/hairwork fee. This is 452 euros in 2021. I found more than 500 euros to pay a bit too much of the good and already knew that I would not use the 'call'.
Now I had a Yoorsies here @Diaantje 🦋 already read that free wigs are also provided. So I signed up to that Foundation. But that didn't go great to say the least. My own hair has curls because I have a perm. Now the lady of that foundation knew to write to me that that could also be seen. truly!!!
Exit ! Lompness is not appreciated.
trulyer, ze had mij al afgemeld, want ik had nog geen haarwerk nodig en een pruik bij hen blijft maar een week beschikbaar. What a nonsense when you offer 800 wigs.
But fine, yo. truly goede reclame. Felt really taken seriously. NOT
But then there was also a foundation a few miles away from my home address. So, did I join Pruijck Foundation logged in Bussum. The ladies were on vacation at the time and I got an extremely involved email from them, despite that. The deal was closed quickly after their holiday. What sweet women !! I didn't have to do it for free by the way, because I have quite a bit of money left for it, especially if I can help others that really have to make ends meet with a minimum. So I made a donation of 100 euros and brought home a cute happy wig. Doesn't look like my own coupe, but I love that.
Before. After
I wear the hairband (or a diadem as in this picture) to keep the wig in place and I have another iniminimini tail where I attach the wig to the rubber band at the back. Nothing, not hair off. There are other ways to keep your wig on your head as well. I didn't try them out, but I'll call them.
A velvet headband under your wig. Velvet has 2 fabric directions/wings, keeping the wig in place. I had figured out that if I need it, I would still add a wavy adhesive layer in the middle to make it even better.
There is also a silicone strap to hold your wig. For sale in NL for various prices, but at AliExpress it costs a turd and three nickels. Just saying. 🤣
There is also medicinal glue to secure your hairwork. Given my skin problems due to the chenezing, it seemed to me the worst option ever !! 🤣
