Science still doesn't agree on how many senses a person actually has. The fact is that there are at least 5, but there are probably many more. For now, however, I'm going to talk to you about the 5 classic and most famous.

Our senses

Seeing, visual perception, visual perception

Is the processing of (visual) stimuli in the brain that were detected by the eye. The eye perceives and sends stimuli to the brain for easy explanation. In the brain, there are then colors, shapes, depths, sharpness,. shaped and that gives us the image we see.

Hearing, hearing, sound perception

Is an organism's ability to perceive sounds, often direction-sensitive to the sound source. Hearing works by means of an ear, the auditory organ where sound waves are converted into action potentials in the auditory nerves.

Smell, sense of smell, sense of smell

Is a neurological processing in the nasal cavity, the actual awareness of perception, takes place in the brain. The molecular fragrance binds to the ciliated epithelium in the nose at a specific receptor. The receptor stimulates mitre cells and this signal eventually reaches the brain via nerve tracts. Odours can be seen in the air but also in other gases or gas mixtures, sometimes even in water. So when we smell a smell with our nose, this is actually not a property of a substance, just an interaction between a substance and an observing organism.

Tasting, sense of taste, oral perception

Is the ability of an organism to perceive certain compounds directly as flavors. This is also called gustative ability. The organ where most taste receptors are located is the tongue, but there are also taste receptors at the back of the oral cavity. Sweet, sour, bitter, salty and umami are the basic flavors that we can observe.

That reminds me that just now, the Hamamelis is blooming. Nice colors, nice scent and we've now made a tasty gin out of it. Three sensory perceptions in one.
Hey I would have loved to be able to read the post I don't know what happened but it doesn't translate the page for me, I'll try it later to see if it will be an internet failure.
Emotions are something that sometimes go unnoticed because we take them for granted. I find your challenge very interesting and above all a nice initiative to connect people with themselves. I will try my best to participate in your challenge from now on!!! Thank you very much!!!
It's so common for us to touch, smell, feel, that we don't really appreciate it, I think you're right and we should enjoy it and feel it more, take the time
@Maria We take a lot of things for granted and that's why we don't pay attention to them.
What a lovely post about those senses. Very well written because I really enjoyed reading it from you again. Motivating and very positive, that's so nice. Especially keep going like this.
It is very interesting to do exercises of this type that lead us to discover new flavors, smells and hear new things. Excellent post.
What a great idea again ! I also try to enjoy myself to the fullest (are we not doing enough) and are we certainly not thinking about enough? !), but now try to link a blog to this. I'll keep it in mind !
You are not aware of it. But indeed, you can experience a beautiful moment with your senses every day. It's also amazing that we have them.
Ooooh, what a great goal! I think I'll mostly come to read and enjoy the posts, because I'm very busy with my education and work myself, so I'm probably not able to post seven moments of pleasure a week. After all, I often enjoy things without a camera or... Show more
That is a very good idea, a great initiative to focus on sensory enjoyment every week. A day of not enjoying is a day not lived.
I would say come on. By the way, I see that week 1 has already been posted.
