5 Reasons why to LOVE Rotterdam!
1. Modernity.
After WWII the city has been completely reconstructed and I'm always amazed at the bold and modern architecture. I always smile when I pass by the "Kubuswoningen" (cube houses) is a reminder that anything can be possible, even after ruins.

2. Multicultural.
Amsterdam gets most of the tourist and granted it is also very multicultural. However, I find Rotterdam to be much more diverse, as there are not as many passing by tourist but more living in cultures. Not to mention all the young life that Rotterdam hosts with all the international universities.
3. The Street Markets!!!
I love how street markets are all over the city, multicultural markets nicely organized by the city hall, I mean you can have a Spanish-Fish stand next to a Dutch-Oliebollen stand next to a Turkish-Pizza stand all very affordable.

4. The city that never sleeps.
Rotterdam is to me what for many New York City is. There's always something to do, and something to discover, a new restaurant opening, an event (like the MTV Awards that was hosted not so long ago). No matter how cold or warm it is, there's always something to do. One of the things I love doing when the weather is nice is a walk in the park, it is so zen and relaxing...clears my head off.

5. Foodie Heaven
Last but not least, the city ever-growing foodie culture is in booming at the moment, which if, you are like me means just more and more opportunity to eat your way through Rotterdam, not to mention that most places deliver everywhere at most times... If you happen to be a bit eccentric like me and get a craving at 23:00 of chocolate ice-cream, chances are there is a place near you that delivers it.
