A whole month had passed. Thin jackets were being replaced with T-shirts. The colder weather was fading away, being replaced with the summery one. And it could be felt in the schools. Soon was going to be a fair in Abigail Adams High, where the Sophomore class was going to start checking out universities and to learn more about them. In their Junior year, they would have SAT exams and they had to know where they wanted to study.

Destiny didn't have any school or major in mind. She didn't know what was she good in. And she was too lovestruck to think about the future.

One day in History class, it was about the school fair and from there a discussion had started. Through the whole period, Destiny was afraid she would be asked what she wanted to do with her life. Thanks god she was not targeted. After class was over, on the way to the lockers, the group discussed how they wanted to spend their lives. None of them really knew exactly where they would be ten years later. All they knew was that they would be together.

It seemed like Destiny had learned an important lesson that day. No matter what future she chose, she had to have friends to join her on the ride of her life.

After school, in the park, Tyler was waiting for Destiny in their usual place. No one dared to sit on their swings anymore. Their swings. She liked the sound of that.

"And my teacher ," Tyler had just told her

They both laughed loudly, making people nearby turn to them. The older ones were smiling, as if they knew how they both felt for each other.

Silence followed, the two in-love birds gazing at each other. Sweethearts.

Tyler asked something Destiny never thought he would: "Wanna go out with me?"

She giggled. "Totally."

That was another moment in which she noticed how much she had changed since her arrival in New York. Had she ever giggled before? Excluding when she had dated Keith? Had she ever had friends? And more supportive teachers, who truly cared about their students?

The next day was the weekend. It was great for the girls to spend more time together and to help Destiny get ready for her date.

"This will look great on you!", Maya threw a casual dress at Destiny. But when she tried it on, she didn't approve of herself in it.

"I don't really like the colour of it," Destiny frowned at her reflection in the mirror. Yellow wasn't her colour.

In the end, she settled on a patterned dress and a cardigan, since the weather was going to be colder that day. Green looked so much better on her.

"Bring her home by 10!", the girls shouted from the window, waving at the young couple, as they had just left for their date. Destiny and Tyler laughed along at the enthusiasm of her friends.
