A Bagpipe for Zulia

Every year the main figures of our zuliana bagpipe have a meeting, the contest “A Bagpipe for Zulia”, in such a festival a deserved tribute to a figure who has given his effort and dedication to enhance this genre. In 2019 without the siege of the coronavirus and driven by the government of the state, the event took place in the lavish Baralt Theatre, competing for the moment 200 unpublished bagpipes to choose only 3, at the gala the famous composer was honored: Jairo Gil this called “the Poet of the Virgin”, with a jury very knowledgeable in the piper environment, was selected the bagpipe “Del Zulia Soy” composed and performed by piper Jaime Indriago. The winning bagpipes received a cash prize of 10 thousand dollars.
