A Dangerous Friendship - Part 10
Still musing about the short visit to Pien, Anne cycles home disappointed. Once home, she walks straight to her room without paying attention to her parents or her brother. Upstairs, she closes her bedroom door with a loud bang. Her mother calls on Anne that they are going to eat right away, but she doesn't even hear this. Her mind is currently busy with completely different things. Anne also has no need to eat at all.
Out of sheer boredom and frustration, she turns on her computer and starts clicking around the internet aimlessly. In this way, she hopes to be able to take her mind off her mind a bit. In addition, she also hopes to be able to avoid the conversation with her parents. That's the last thing she wants to do and besides, they wouldn't understand it anyway. After all, work has always been more important than anything else in the world. Anne sighs deeply and, while scrolling, thinks of the fun things she could have done with her friends during the summer vacation. Thinking about this makes her feel increasingly miserable and even more abandoned. How could her friends not have let her hear from her now? How difficult is it now to send a simple app saying that they are on vacation or something? Or an app that they don't want to meet up with her for a while? Normally, they always told each other everything? They were best friends, right? Once again, Anne sighs deeply and wonders why she is on the internet again. She's actually not sure. Her thoughts are abruptly interrupted by her mother shouting that dinner is ready.
