And now the truth!

This week the broadcast will be broadcast with us as a candidate for the third time. And just like previous years, there will be viewers who know us, have questions. That's why we decided to put our story out this year, even though this is against RTL's rules.

You participate in such a program when you stand with your back against the wall and just don't see a way out of it. Ronald received 3 cerebral infarctions in 2 days of July 13, 2012. It was side board and the damage was huge. Unilaterally paralyzed, no speech and his cognitive thinking was far to seek. But he was still there and that was all that matters at that time. However, there was more. We had 2 more companies that were already in severe weather. For a long time we had been trying to get the companies back on their feet and before the infarction it looked rosy again.
But now everything stopped. Ronald needed me at home, which meant I couldn't go to the store. For his company's clients, I didn't have the knowledge. So this meant we ran out of revenue and a lot of debt. We're not married and Ronald wasn't officially divorced yet. Because we were not married, I was not authorized to take care of certain matters, and unfortunately he was unable to do so. 100,000 phone calls I made to all kinds of agencies, companies and individuals looking for the right help. But unfortunately. Every time I found a door that opened it was the wrong one and closed the right one for good. I can say I've never felt so alone as I did in that period. Desperate, stressed, panic and frustrated.

And then there's a spot on TV of The Dime on its side. I've seen the program come by and know what they do in it. John Williams comes across as credible in his spot and I think I see light in the tunnel.

I'll take it off and give us up for the program.
I know what they need, the ingredients are familiar to me: a tearjerker for the viewer (that was Ronald's story), the bitch (that was me) and the great hero (that's them). I didn't care, if that was what they needed it had to be, help with my administration, help finding the right path was all I wanted.
Soon I get a message and they will see if we are suitable as a candidate. All of our financial administration goes that way and the whole story. But they too find it complicated and don't work out. We get rejected after months of corresponding and interviewing because they couldn't help us.

Then a year later, we get a call from the Blue Circle production company. How is the situation now being asked, do you still need help? Well, I just need someone who can help me with the administration and correspondence. Someone who guides me away and drives me. The psychic pressure you live under are getting blocked, and so I was jumping for someone who would say well you have to call those and those and then you're going to say this. But the situation was a bit different now. The divorce wasn't finalized yet but it was approaching the end. And now Ina came to live with us. Ronald's mother who was dementing.
No problem, so send all the records again and a week later we had the cameras in our house.

The recordings have lasted about 5 weeks, which is already the first clue. Many hours of film material that takes them 45 minutes of.

We got a contract under our nose what to sign. If we abandoned the program for some reason after signing, we would pay for the cost of production, which would amount to tons. Half an hour after signing, Blue Circle told us that the Municipality of Den Helder was not happy about this and wanted us to refrain from participating, otherwise they couldn't help us anymore. But we couldn't meet that request anymore because we had just signed.

And then it all really starts. The conversation with Annemarie van Gaal, the numbers are announced. Do you notice that every candidate looks so surprised when the numbers come into the picture?
That's because those numbers are completely out of the sky. And while the cameras are running, we ask where the numbers come from because this really can't be right. But obviously that's not in the broadcast. If we had the income outlined on the TV, we wouldn't even have participated in the programme. We are promised that the budget coach will go through the numbers with us. We continue.

We have to do everything and everything will be filmed. Shopping, lubricating bread for Ina and especially trying to film us with a cigarette.
Ronald had now found work on their own, so they couldn't take credit for that. But still he had to go to the employment agency, a job coach because imagine. And I was allowed to go on a snooping internship. They were familiar with my physical impairment but still allowed me to change beds at motel Den Helder and refill laminate in the Formido. This while I have a job! After all, I'm a full-time carer for Ina. But they don't have a message to that. Ina had to go to a home, I could work outside the house. The fact that I don't earn the salary I earn as a carer, they had no message to. It was suggested that we would like to take advantage of Ina financially. The moment I made the choice that she would come to live with us, I didn't even know there would be a fee.

We need to see a smoking stop coach. I'm making a real try, but unfortunately it failed. Ronald refuses, we've been living by them for weeks and this is just the last push. He's embarrassed by John in front of the camera as if he doesn't know smoking is bad for you.
But still no budget coach, and still there's no one going through the administration with us.

The last day of film is finally this far. The budget coach comes by. I'm super happy and relieved. This is what we've all done it for!

Some shots are being taken that I'm sitting around the table with Edo with some papers. And that was the budget coach. What happened to the promise that we would go through the numbers together? What happened to the promise that there would be order in the chaos? What happened to the promise that I would know what to do after this program? Edo is a sweet man, but not a budget coach or any expert. He is connected to the television world because he performs administrative tasks for certain well-known Dutch people.
When asked what the budget coach is going to do for me, the answer is that when I have questions, I can ask them to him. Yes hello? I told you I don't know anything anymore, that I can't do anything anymore, that I need guidance and not that stupid cash booklet. I can cut back, but now where do I go with the money I save? How do I get deferral and how do I get payment arrangements? What to expect and what debts are there from Ronald's marriage?. But you can walk to the hell because there's no help coming.

On the last call, John Williams says he has a surprise for me. They have a job!
I look surprised and some viewers say that's because I'm afraid I have to work. But nothing is further true. It's a lie! They don't have a job at all and that's the reason for my gaze.

There is a daily communication between me and one person of Blue Circle where I still ask for the help I want. And only when all the filming of all candidates have been, and the production team falls out of one because the program has really come to an end I get the redeeming answer. By phone, so I don't have it in writing.

This person said they were short of candidates and therefore asked us again. However, they couldn't do anything to us and they would never take another candidate from Den Helder because there is no work here. Uh, Ronald had work, I had a job. Both 50 with flaws and despite the Bright economy, we both had jobs. I worked before Ina joined us as a telemarketer. It was even a disappointment to them that Ronald had found work himself, because then they couldn't score with this either. Help with the administration was impossible because it was too complicated for them and too many cases had not been closed yet. The person was ashamed of saying they had a job for me, which was John's mistake. But it was mounted in it anyway.

People in vulnerable positions should be better protected. There should be rules for production companies and programmakers to adhere to. There is now one woman who has had the strength and courage to start a lawsuit against a program maker. Do you know that woman who reacts so retarded to the installation of the sockets at the program Help my husband is a handyman. Know it won't have been her first reaction, but that it was fun for the program to mount it like that. Try to pay attention to how something is assembled, pay attention to clothing etc. There's 1 shot of me where I smoke and that comes back in the program over and over again so it looks like I'm constantly smoking. I don't care because yes I smoke! But I learned from my mom that you don't do that on camera. Don't believe everything you see on TV, it's mounted. Another 5 weeks of film material with 45 minutes to be assembled.
In this program you often see images that the candidates are filming themselves, why are they not used with us?

Pay attention to the amount that people can save on their fixed burdens annually. Very crazy but that's 1500 euros with everyone. the crisis demolition. It's crazy that you only save that amount once and not every year. I don't say anything else.

The dime on its side is an illusion in which Annemarie van Gaal can put her company on the map. It uses vulnerable desperate people. Nowhere is the real intention to help candidates find. John Williams is (and that has nothing to do with his colour or ancestry) a dressed monkey. He memorizes his text and that text shouldn't be too long because he doesn't know it. And don't say anything that's different, because then he's out of his role.
He pretends to be very committed to his candidates. Perfectly acted! Because there is no word out of his mouth which is not in the script. Not a simple hello yet. And then there's a couple in help my husband is a handyman, which is so tough to use the program to get their home remodeled. How persuasiated he was at RTL late night telling this story. He was duped. he was pathetic. Chapeau people who did this!

It caused us a lot of misery that caused us only more trouble. This is mainly due to the wrong numbers. People who had judgement about us based on the information they received on TV. But luckily, there are also a lot of people who really know us and know that we are not the way they put us on TV.

I hope this story shows our side a bit and there are fewer questions and judgments. But if people have questions, just ask them.
