Father of girl killed by pit bull reveals how he found her

Alisson Nahomy's father called on families to take care of pets of this type for their children and made a moving appeal to the National Congress
Alisson's father Nahomy Argueta gave a harsh story on Thursday after his daughter, “his treasure”, died from the brutal attack of his pet, a pitbull dog, in the Las Delicias neighborhood of Lepera, Lempira, western Honduras.

“It's a tough test for the family, for me as Nahomy's father, I didn't expect this,” said Leopoldo Argueta, the father of the nine-year-old girl who was in fourth grade at the Manuel Bonilla school in Leopara.

Then he recalled that at 3:23 in the afternoon he received a call from an uncle of Nahomy who informed him of what happened. “Unfortunately, when I came to the house, she had the dog's chain wrapped around her neck and there were scratches on her body. That was difficult”.

He then said, “I took off her chain, kissed her, but I saw her neck shattered. I called a doctor friend so he could help us, but it was too late”.

Alisson Nahomy's father called on Honduran families to take care of children if they have pets. “That little dog was six months old and was the pet of the house, my daughter cared for and fed him, but the devil acted and the misfortune passed”.

“I killed the animal, but maybe some demon had gotten into it because when the Public Prosecutor's Office and the police came, the animal came back again and they took it away,” he said.


Very shocked by what happened, Leopoldo Argueta asked the National Congress to approve a law prohibiting the possession of pit bull dogs at home.
