A flowery morning walk
I'm on the bike before 6:00. My goal: a dike along the A50.
In the summer months it is always full of flowers.
For starters, I stand still for a moment before the sunrise.
Then I put my feet in motion.
I'm not the only one on the road so early. A slug crawls past me without embarrassment.
In the verge I see wild marjoram growing. This plant is better known as oregano in supermarkets and garden centers, but is sometimes called eel herb.
The species is a legally protected plant in Belgium. He is on the Dutch Red list of plants as common and stable or increased.
A half-closed mallow winks at me.
Some flowers bend under the dew drops.
Here we see a striped evening primrose.
