A hare laying eggs, how come???
Believer I am not. . . but I like the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs. Somehow it always reminds me of having a nice breakfast with my family, but also my time in kindergarten, when I found a real bird egg on the ground while all the other kids were looking for chocolate eggs.

I think the Easter Bunny is just a nice and cozy figure, it is cute, soft and brings chocolate, what more do you want?
But where does that weird hare, who also lays eggs?
The story of the Easter Bunny probably originates in Germany, even before Christianity played a role here, it would originate from the Teutons : a Germanic tribe that disappeared from the scene in the last century BC. The tribe had several myths, including stories about the goddess Ostara. One of these stories tells how a little girl found a wounded bird. She prayed to Ostara for help. The goddess rushed, saw that the bird was in very bad shape and turned it into a hare. This hare would come back once a year to lay colored eggs.
Because these stories were passed on from generation to generation, different versions were created. There is also the story that the goddess Ostara was a little late in a certain year and spring only started running late. To make up for her mistake a little bit, she decided to save a young bird who had almost succumbed to the cold. But the cold had already done its job and the bird could no longer fly. The goddess turned the bird into a hare. From now on, the hare was able to lay eggs one day in the year: the day on which Ostara was revered.
It's easy, if you can turn dead birds into hares. 🤣
