A look at the encaustic art kitchen (Part 3)
After the earlier explanation about the iron and the stylus today a new technique: Hot-air.
Hot air or hot air and wax cubes are a somewhat more unpredictable combination. My working method is as follows:
I bought a paint-burn gun from the Gamma, because it is easy to adjust to temperature and blowing speed and besides it has several “mouths” so you can influence the blowing direction.
There are also encaustic hot-air guns, but these are a lot more pricey, and I don't use it enough (yet) to find it worthwhile.
