May Kerney, head girl of the convent was busy separating Russell and Wayne from a fight. Wayne was a day scholar and normally a part of Russell’s crew. May had been asked to keep an eye on Russell by the nuns, they had expected a retaliation from him towards Pierre for the previous evenings events.
The fact that these boys were fighting surprised her.
“Russell. You have just come from being caned by Father Giles,” pulling Russell away to face her. “Do you ever learn?” May was furious. She had never had to separate boys in the higher classes but these Standard three boys had been a problem since they were in their grades. “What is going on here?” May was angry.
