#news A man saved a crocodile that had a tire around his body for 6 years

Six years he wore this crocodile in Indonesia with a motorcycle tire around his body. As the reptile grew, there were fears for its life and it was clear that the tire could drown it. In 2020, local authorities offered a reward for anyone who could help remove the tire.

The feat was achieved thanks to a 35-year-old Indonesian who succeeded and mentioned: “I caught the crocodile by myself,” he says, stating that “I asked for help but everyone was afraid”. To achieve this, he set a trap with a rope tied to a log and left chickens and ducks alive as bait.

The crocodile will live from now on without the danger that threatened his life. Hopefully these kinds of occurrences will help people to be more empathetic to animals and people.

In itself, it's great that someone wants to release the animal from its plight, but I don't think it was necessary to sacrifice other animals for that. If the crocodile was temporarily sedated, I think it would have succeeded.
