A party mood with a mood

Daddy's sick. Part II

It's as long as the feast of sacrifice is in sight. A party the Islamic community is looking forward to. Where family is in a big sign of the party. Togetherness and conviviality together with food gives a feeling of love and beautiful memories. But this year it was different. Different than usual. The family is not complete. Because we're missing an important family member who's affecting the mood, and that's my father. His absence makes us experience the feast of sacrifice differently. It feels double. On the one hand, I feel the joy because we are together and have fun at my mother's house. But my father's absence overwhelmed me. After we were done with dinner we went with the family to the hospital. When I arrive at the hospital, I see my father in a Moroccan robe. He was ready to see us. Tired, he sits in a chair. And looks out for himself. He says he's happy to see us. After walking for a bit he indicates that he is tired and wants to lie down on bed. Then he realized that the feast of sacrifice was different because of his health. The decline both physically and mentally. He was overwhelmed by emotions. And that hit me. He closed his eyes and said he wanted to sleep. I kissed him on his forehead and said goodbye to him. And he thanked us for the visit. Again a double feeling... a mood can be positive (cheerful) but also negative (sad).
