About red hearts, white chocolate and black noodles ...
Just a month ago we had Valentine's day and overhere in Europe that is the day that lovers, both men and women, give presents to eachother. You can also give presents to other people close to you like your parents, children or friends. But it all is given on the 14th of February.
In Asia this tradition works a little different. On the 14th of February girls and women give gifts (mostly chocolate) to their boyfriends or men. The men have to return the favor back and give the women a present on the 14th of march.
It was first created in Japan in 1977 when a chocolate company created marshmellows for the men to answer back to the present women gave them and called the 14th march Marshmellow day. In 1978 it was taken over by almost all of Japan and it is called 'White day' since then. Traditionaly the men give white chocolate to the women. But today you can give anything from chocolate to white gold and there is a saying 'sanbai gaeshi' what means so much that the men have to tripple the present the women gave them.
Since 1978 a lot of other Asian countries have taken over this tradition and
S Korea has even added something to it. Because, believe it or not, ... on the 14th of April they have Black Day (how original). On that day the singles who where left out on the 2 previous dates come together and eat noodles in black sauce. So women, if you are smart you give a gift to your boyfriend in February to see it get trippled in March and break up then, so that you can have black noodles in April with somebody else.
I AM ONLY JOKING OFCOURSE.
Does it need saying that a lot of this is created by smart economical strategists and has very little to do with love, because you can show your love or appriciation on any day of the year ... but hey, if it makes you happy ... just do it.

I love to be given things as gifts, my nephews always have details for me, but this special date doesn't go unnoticed for me.
