My children drew on our walls outdoors, on the paving with no worries. I always use to tell them that the rain or hosepipe will clear it away.
Now that they are older, they sometimes go outside with their chalk and make notes or practice work that they need to know for a test or exam.

@Mónica Great idea! But you were lucky: for a while, as a kid, I took to drawing on the walls of my bedroom with marker pens 😅 At some point my mom, @Teresa Seia, decided to put up some card stock on the walls.

I found big chunky chalk and paint and told her she could fill all the walls and walkways outside. It entertained her for hours.
Later it became one of her study methods.
@Gabriella also did the same. And last year while she studied in the kitchen while I was cooking, she wanted to work a sum out and I told her to get her white board markers out and to use the kitchen tiles as it could be wiped off. It is now not uncommon to walk into our kitchen during exam time and see notes on the wall tiles haha and of course chalk on the walls outdoors.
But I always say, if it is fun they are going to remember it for a really long time.

Keeping it as practical, fun, interesting in some way, as possible is the best way to make your brain retain information. I'm happy @Adriana mentioned the card stock of her childhood... to cover enough space of the wall :) because she wouldn't stop adding new drawings, quotes, numbers/additions... stories. Everything in lively colours

@Mónica Seems like it's a universal thing with kids, then, drawing on walls and furniture 😁 It's so great that you could find a compromise to make it work without taking away the fun of it. The idea of the kitchen tiles all scribbled up sounds wonderful, like the house is alive and ever-evolving alongside your family 🙂 (Sorry for the late response)

Thank you so much for your comment!

@Teresa Seia no gracias a ustedes por permitirme ser parte de esta gran familia que es Yoors

Wonderful thing that. No matter how bad things are, hope and joy never disappear from children thoughts!

@Paula Martins You got it so well :) It's a joy and, furthermore, I think kids are telling us that it is not all about confinement...

Oh how nice and I see myself hopping over there on the street.😊

@marijke What a nice scene, so pleasant to imagine! I wish to accompany you:)
