For years, scientific researchers have wondered why our immune system does not sideline unhealthy, proliferating cells.
Ultimately, Heinz Laubli and his colleagues at the University Hospital Basel want to find an answer to that. They are also enlisting the cooperation of Nobel Prize winner Carolyn Bertozzi from Stanford University, USA.
The immune system is normally very well equipped to get rid of abnormal cells.
