Aggression against GPs is increasingly intense, are Dutch people in particular increasingly losing their way?
Aggression against GPs is increasingly intense, sometimes even necessary for permanent surveillance. As many as 77 percent of all GP surgeries are affected by aggression, harassment and even violence. The National General Practitioners Association (LHV) is concerned about the growing intensity of the aggression.
Harassment at the counter or on the phone is a daily occurrence for many GPs and assistants. These are mostly verbal outbursts, but in the most severe cases, they also involve physical violence. According to the National General Practitioners Association (LHV), the growing pressure on healthcare is the cause of the aggression.
Permanent surveillance
Practical nurse Anneke Roobol from the Zuidplein Health Center in Rotterdam sees that the assistants at the general practice in particular have to deal with cursing patients and family members at the counter and on the phone. #aggression #Nederlanders #asociallic
