De 1e Chinezen die zich na WO2 in NL vestigden, hadden daarvoor in Indonesia gewoond en serveerden behalve Chinese ook Indonesische gerechten: zoals nassi, bami, babi pangang etc. De later gearriveerde Chinese restaurateurs pasten zich aan en kookten waar het publiek om vroeg.
