#weareone
While doing some research work this week, I came across a scientific fact that got me thinking. This scientific research was about. me. and you. and my Dutch colleague, but also about my supervisor with roots in Surinama. In other words, scientific research was about. HOMO SAPIENS, the only species that can (and can also call itself) itself.
Where does this Homo Sapiens come from now?. I'm going to save you the whole theory of evolution because others can explain this much better than I do. But the fact is that the approximately 8 billion human beings that now inhabit this Earth are descended from a small group (no more than several thousand) ancestors of today's human beings. This group moved away from Africa about 70 ,000 years ago and began to populate the world. All the differences we see within humanity have come from climate change and the like. Man adapted to survive in the new situations he ended up in. The group that went all the way into Europe came into contact with its evolutionary nephew, the Neanderthal. This allows US to find traces of their DNA in the DNA of European and N, while other groups find much less traces of their DNA.
So much a lesson of history that makes most of them ring a little bit vaguely. But the fact of this research that led me to think was the fact that all about 8 billion people here on Earth are genetically not that different from each other. Sure, one has red hair and blue eyes, the other has
very curly hair, some are big and others are small. But our genetic blue print, there's really not so many differences in that. In fact, we are the most similar species in the world. In all other species, genetic differences between individuals are often much larger.
WHY DO WE DEAL WITH EACH OTHER SO HOSTILE?
Then why don't we still see that there's so much more we have in common than we have differences?
We are at the top of the evolutionary ladder, but we have a lot to learn.
The story witch,
