#weetjenog #televisieserie #weetjenoghartje #hartje This series is about a typical white working-class family, living in a neighborhood in Queens, New York City, consisting of father Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor), mother Edith (Jean Stapleton), daughter Gloria (Sally Struthers) and her husband Michael Stivic (Rob Reiner). Father Archie considers himself a liberal person who has nothing against people of different origins than his own as long as they don't live near him. He also believes that women are best suited to their own in the household and in the kitchen. His wife Edith does not excel in intelligence and has fully adapted to the role model imposed on her by Archie. She is the one who often irritates Archie with her remarks and high shrill voice, but on the other hand can always adjust him again.

Daughter Gloria and husband Mike are archetypes of the modern youngsters of the 1970s. Gloria is regularly forced to make a choice of loyalty between her husband and her father. Mike, in turn, is the one who always remarks the civil existence of the Bunkers, but is himself unemployed and thus eats along. Mike and Archie often get into heated discussions on social and social issues, with Archie Mike regularly making up for Meathead (minced head). Mike is also named Polak, because he is of Polish descent.

With the dark neighbors, the Jeffersons, Archie has a love-hate affair. Of course, he rejects them because they're black. But the neighbor also has prejudices about whites. Precisely because they are both biased, they sometimes understand each other. That's how they find each other when the neighbor's son gets engaged to a half-white woman.

The series is almost entirely set in the living room of the Bunkers.

A great show.
