With a quiet, peaceful feeling inside, Kalle sits at home with tea. He just knows that it will be all right; that Pietje and he will stay together and that Pietje will keep her faith. Allah is near them, and he experiences deep within.
In her cell, Pietje has the same experience. She's happy with Kalle for who he is and how he led her to God. Her old life is behind her.
She is only chained to that because of the situation. Deep down, she knows that this punishment is her right. She's happy with this punishment, no matter how crazy that sounds.
