Myth 1: Animals Don't Feel Pain Like Humans Do
One of the most persistent misunderstandings about animals is the idea that they don't feel pain like we do. This is simply not true. Scientific research has shown that many animals have a nervous system that is similar to that of humans, so they can experience pain in a similar way.
While animals may not always express their pain in the same way as humans, there are clear signs of pain that can be recognized. This includes behavioral changes such as decreased appetite, aggression or withdrawal. These myths can cause people to take less account of animal welfare, which can result in unnecessary suffering.
