But when exactly do you have that? What is the definition of “getting your life in order”? Which are the standards. and more importantly, who determines them?
Because of the situation I'm in, I realize that I don't have my life in order for a lot of people. Financially, I still have to solve the hangovers of the past and that and the associated stigma, so I am confronted with that on a daily basis.
By the way, I would not claim that I have my life in order. and often one goes hand in hand with the other. Things like that don't really get into your cold clothes, but rather in your head. resulting in depression or burnout.
Mens sana in corpore sano. teaches us that these ghosts in your head are undermining your physical health and I also know that it is true.
BUT. I'm learning and I'm working on it. The road may be long but every day brings me further from that abyss and closer to my goal, nml. be financially, mentally and physically healthy. I know I'm not there yet, but I do face my limitations and shortcomings and don't run away (anymore).
Still, I still hear things like. you don't have your life in order OR they have it in order.
Just recently, when I noticed that certain people shouldn't be so happy either, since they drank a lot of things, chased through their noses and injected them, which wasn't really healthy. The rebuttal I got then was. YES, but they do have their lives in order. This meant that they did well financially and were independent.
Just short through the curve now.
So if you do well financially, you are allowed to use and abuse all kinds of resources. and you still have your life in order, because financially there is no issue (REALLY. it seems to me as if these people are also fleeing from their own demons in one way or another and then I ask myself questions about their mental health).
But if someone in my situation also wants to buy this, well then I am a tokkie, camper, h**r, or the like. that they would not have expected otherwise.
Somewhere there is something wrong with this line of thought and I personally think it's a very crooked line of reasoning. I also ask myself who exactly has his life in order. The one whose lives are not perfect for the outside world (for whatever reason), but faces it and works on it. Or the one who has a picture perfect life but in any way flees from the ghosts in his head and does not face them.
IS THE FIN. MEASURE THAN REALLY THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS?
The most ideal thing is, of course, that your life is more or less healthy on all fronts.
And now comes the most important thing. healthy according to YOUR own standards. If you are happy with the life you live, even if you are not among the top earners,. then it's probably in your head pretty okay and that's what matters in the end.
More really isn't always better. And being financially healthy doesn't mean being stinky rich. Just like being healthy doesn't equate to being thin and super sporty.
