Ascension Day: abandoned or not?
At Ascension Day, abandonment prevails?
On Ascension Day, Christians celebrate that Jesus Christ ascended to heaven. This took place after an exemplary life here on Earth, a gruesome death on the cross and an extremely miraculous resurrection from the grave.

In the 40 days between Easter and Ascension Day, Jesus further trained the disciples. That must also have been a very special period for them.
And now their Master suddenly disappeared on the clouds before their eyes, directly into the sky. What now?!? Had He now left for good? Forever out of sight and out of mind?
Ten days after Ascension Day, it is Pentecost. Then God will return to Earth in a wonderful way. God comes to live in His children's hearts. So.: He is out of sight, but definitely not out of mind!
And one day, this Jesus will be the same way (it says.), so on the clouds (???), returning to Earth. As Christians, we can look forward to that. And in the meantime, we can tell everyone that this ascension is not about being abandoned.
