"augusta, Gone" (2006)

Today I would like to introduce you to a Lifetime movie, called "Augusta, Gone". It was released in the year 2006 and it's based on the memoir by Martha Tod Dudman.

This is the story of a teenage girl, named Augusta Dudman, who begins a path of self-destruction after struggling with her appearance and her results at school.

Before discovering drugs and alcohol, Augusta is focused on her art. At the beginning of the movie, her mother describes her as someone who paints beautiful pictures.

As soon as Martha Tod Dudman notices that something is not quite right with her daughter, after confirming her suspicions about substance abuse, she realizes she needs the help of her ex-husband. Together, they have to help Augusta realize that she is destroying not only herself but the family as well.

Luckily, Augusta is able to recover via the help of a wilderness camp and a boarding school for troubled teenagers. The last straw for her is the death of one of her new friends from an overdose. This event helps Augusta realize even more that she needs to go back to her old life. And to do that, she needs to go home. She escapes from the boarding school and contacts an agency for runaway teens who help her catch a bus home, where she is reunited with her family, ready to begin a new life.

I recently watched this movie and it gave me inspiration for an old story of mine.
