Awakening my conscience

#vegan

For some time now I haven't eat animals, as a good friend says “corpses” .
I can't say I'm vegan yet, I have a long way to go, but I think I've taken a good step and I think I'm on the right track.
The hardest thing is to refuse desserts since almost everyone has dairy and eggs and since childhood I am addicted to them.
Right now I could say that I am a vegetarian, vegans do not use or consume any product that comes from animals that is the result of the suffering of some animal: honey, silk, wool, leather. In my house there are still many leather things (shoes, clothes, some furniture), for example it is very likely that I am using products that were tested or have some animal ingredient, such as creams, makeup. but little by little I am awakening my conscience. I read a lot, do research and have learned to empathize with the often unnecessary suffering of other living beings, I understand more and more the cruelty behind the whole animal food industry and I feel happier to have made the decision not to continue participating in this. It's not easy, we've been believing for years or centuries that we can't live without eating meat, fish or chicken.
Casein present in dairy products (to a greater extent in cheeses), during the digestive process releases casomorphine which is very addictive, which is why it is so difficult for us to leave them, but we can and discover a new and delicious way of eating doing the least amount of harm to other living beings and the environment and at the same time we take care more our health.
