#educacin The Barefoot Foundation is a Colombian non-governmental organization created by singer Shakira that seeks to promote quality public education among children and young people at risk of exclusion in Colombia. Currently, this partnership, in collaboration with the “la Caixa” Banking Foundation, focuses on the construction of a new public school in the city of Barranquilla (Colombia), a project that is already under way.
The aim of the alliance is to prevent violence and promote positive and collaborative activities through the work of educators. The collaboration also focuses on the promotion of quality sports or educational actions and projects, based on the values and personal development of the children who will benefit from the project. The Barça Foundation provides its methodology based on sport and physical activity.
