Beagle Family

On March 24, 2013 our Matsi and Diva received a litter of no less than 10 puppies. The Facebook page of Beagle Family was created and the owners were able to follow their puppy Does (Mattie), Joris, Boy, Sammy, Benny, Tess, Khaleesy, Maggie Heidy and Kaya. It was our first litter, had no experience and how we experienced all this, you can see and read it in this blog post.

THE BIRTH OF THE BEAGLE PUPPIES

I really remember that as the day of yesterday, because I always drink a cup of coffee after dinner and my evening starts with RTL 4. Only that night was not the case, because just when I wanted to have a sip of coffee. Diva jumped off the couch, and then the water was broken. So this also ended up in my mouth and it was not very tasty. Really so dirty, I even rinsed my mouth several times with mouthwash. Think also that it was more the idea, will not hurt and I have nothing left except this memory for life then.

Despite the fact that we made her a throwing box and let her get used to it for a few weeks. Decided our Diva to give birth anyway on the couch, which we were not very happy with. Only at that moment you can't move her either, so Marcel stayed with her and I really quickly packed some blankets, towels and garbage bags. Which we then put on the bench, in order to protect the bank as well as possible.

At 20:15 the first puppy was born and has, but the delivery lasted all night. For us it was also a surprise that 10 were born in the end, because we made an ultrasound of her pregnancy. In this ultrasound there were 5 or 6 puppies and so when this was born, they thought that the birth was over. Only after the first 5 puppies were born on the couch, she went to her throwing box on her own. Which we had moved from the kitchen to the living room. Came that night also 5 puppies, who was born in the throwing box and were happy that we had the birth around 06:00 in the morning.

FIRST ACQUAINTANCE FOR MATSI WITH THE PUPPIES

During the delivery of the pups we put Matsi in the bench, so Diva could give birth to her puppies in peace. This seemed better for both dogs and Matsi behaved really well. Something I didn't expect, but he could see everything from the bench. After the whole delivery was over, Matsi finally got acquainted with his 10 puppies. He was also curious about this and that was a really nice moment to see.
