As Ludwig van Beethoven said, 'music can change the world'. Beekeeper Bioni takes this very literally: he uses bee music to create more awareness for the endangered bee population.

The number of #bijen (and other pollinators) decreases and that is no longer possible. Without bees, there will be no pollination and without pollination the biological ecosystem will collapse. Yet many people, especially young people, do not know that this danger threatens. To make sure everyone becomes aware of the importance of the bee, Bioni makes bee music. Using homemade equipment, he makes recordings of all kinds of by-related sounds; the hum of worker bees, their queen and even the sound of honey when an electric charge passes through it. He then makes short sound clips of this, which he composes with a synthesizer. And that doesn't have to be done in a dusty cellar; like any good DJ, he performs live worldwide, even though he doesn't take an active hive with him.

Because people become a fan of his music and bees in general, the artist hopes that they will further delve into bees. That's how they find out how the bugs are and how they can help. The identity of Bioni remains hidden behind an old beekeeper costume, because according to him, the message is more important than the artist. Are you also curious about the music of this bee-dj? Among other things onYoutube, Spotifiy and Bandcamp you can listen to his music.
