It's a matter of reading your smart meter and calculating very well. But none of us have an answer to those concerns about the energy companies. Action by the cabinet looks good in itself, but mandatory measures towards the energy companies are missing. So this measure, which has been received with so much enthusiasm by the population, is immediately placed in a negative light by the energy companies.
And be careful with firing wood and other organic substances in NL, because many municipalities already have a ban on the use of wood stoves.

I protested against this, because large consumption is often not due to your own fault. That law did not come about. With gas and electricity idem. I used to pay blue when people had very low bills. After seeing a lot of misery and black snow, I now live in a well-insulated social home. All the misery over. Barely consumption and also the right to a social rate. It is poignant to read everywhere that even the middle class lives in the cold and drafts these days and still cannot pay the energy bills. It does something emotional to a person.
It's one hell of a mess. I'm at Essent and just yesterday they increased the gas price by 30% and the energy by 50%, so I'm not going to pay 600 but double. I'm at Essent and just yesterday they increased the gas price by 30% and the energy by 50%, so I'm not going to pay 600 but double. So I was also trying it, but now I have no chance. Because that price ceiling does not work for a detached house with 5 people, because they have doubled the rates. So you're going to pay big money anyway. And these are also the prices calculated on regular gold customers, as they call it, who have a discount of yes, 10%. It's just criminal. I've been sitting in 16, 17 degrees here in the house all week, I got sick because of the cold. Now lie in bed with a bathrobe and two blankets. But never give up. I have taken more measures to save.
The heating stays off. I'm going to order bed socks, home suits and fleece blankets. I'm now saving for a stovepipe and go put the wood stove from outside that wasn't connected yet, because we didn't have a pipe yet. But I'm not paying too much for these kinds of malpractices. Also stupid of the government if you're going to set a price ceiling without making really good agreements with those energy companies. And actually, you know beforehand that they would never stick to the agreements. They think well, the government does pay, so we raise prices. Smart, of course, but unfortunately over the citizen's back.
@Madeleine in a detached house, you are indeed quickly above the average energy consumption. Solar panels: an option? Heating on electricity is currently cheaper than on gas. Heating may be done in one place, so not the entire house but only 1 room.... Show more@Madeleine in a detached house, you are indeed quickly above the average energy consumption. Apparently, heating with tea lights and such, an inverted flower pot (don't mention the name) also works very well.
@Leo 1 is it also. Yes, I hope that the ceiling will be adjusted a bit more. They're going to work on that, they said yesterday in the House of Representatives.

Solar panels still have to be done, but we will only renovate in a year and a half to two years, and we will take them. I've already had an advisor and a guy from the boiler give advice, but we don't have much sun here, more shade like sun, so the question is whether it's enough. Anyway, first get through this winter with pitchers, home suits and hopefully install that stove before winter. Yes, we usually only heat the living room and utility rooms. But nothing now. Yes, I saw, yes, with that flower pot. And the dog is lying next to me hihi, who also feels good that it's not that hot here anymore. we keep each other warm now.
