Best Homemade guacamole

Home-made guacamole is simpler than you think, as long as you have a food processor. All cutting and mixing is done for you; all that is left is to enjoy your new, delicious guacamole!

Ingredients

2 cloves of garlic, peeled
2 jalapeno peppers, core and stem removed (use seeds and pith if you want to be spicier)
1 small onion, peeled with the removed stem
2 plum tomatoes, seeds
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
3 ripe avocado, peeled, shredded and peeled
1 lime, juice and zest

Directions

Place the garlic and jalapeno peppers in a working bowl for your multi-purpose food processor. Pulse until fine. Cut the onion into pieces and add. Stir until the onions are finely chopped. Cut the tomatoes into quarters, add and chop a few times. Add the cumin and salt, whisk until combined.

At this point, the ingredients in the work bowl should be chopped the way you want them into the finished guacamole. If not, call until the desired texture is found. Add guacamole, lime juice and zest. Pulse until just combined. Excessive processing at this point will cream the avocado, which leads to an un-guacamole type of texture.

Best Food Processor To Make Guacamole

I have heard many cooks say that a food processor is not the best tool for making guacamole. I always listen to the reasons that make this feeling. Every complaint I hear comes from someone with a limited, low-quality machine. The reason for this is simple; making guacamole is one activity where good food processor will always be the best and bad will always be disappointing.

There are two main reasons for the differences between different food processors when processing guacamole. First the blade sharpness. Duller blades on the cheap model will hit the other vegetable object instead of cutting properly. This leaves one of you in the water and the other into very large pieces. The second consideration of power. An efficient machine will easily give you the short, strong cracks needed to properly cut vegetables. A malfunctioning machine will not. This adds to the unequal results.
