Wool Day

Today, Saturday, October 29, a Wool Day was organized at Meeting Park Buiten-Dierenpark Dronten. Of course I'm going to have a look.

Three ladies give a demonstration of spiders in different ways. Just to tell it chronologically.

First, there was the shepherd's baton. Of course, when the shepherd looked after his sheep in the field, he always had wool at hand and a stick was also available.

Then you have the drop spindle. With that, you can spin a little faster.

And then you have the Navajo spin tool. In this order, you can watch these three ways of spinning in this video.

Nice blog, Jolande. What you can't make out of wool. Nice reportage with nice photos!
Nice, I used to spun wool myself. Buy sheepskin and get started.
@aatje well I've learned it between sneezing. Turned out to be very allergic to wool.

this was interesting say. I only know the old-fashioned spider wheel. Never done it myself. But what possibilities are there and what fun things have they made out of wool?. A great trip.
How nice everyone! Nice post, I share it
