What is Dioxane?
1,4-Dioxane is an impurity that can sit in, among other cosmetic products with polyethylene glycol
compounds (PEG's) as raw materials. 1,4-Dioxane as an ingredient is not added to a cosmetic product,
but as by-product formed during the ethoxyleringsproces of basic substances such as detergents, foaming
agents and emulsifiers. These are substances that can be recognized by the prefix 'PEG'. Further, 1,4-dioxane
may be present in cosmetic products with ethoxylated fatty alcohols such as sodium laureth sulfate, sodium
myreth sulfate, sodium pareth sulfate as a raw material. These substances are identified by the suffix ETH
in the ingredients list. 1,4-Dioxane is a contamination that occurs when the used PEG-purified raw materials
are insufficient. Better control of the production process can thus 1,4-dioxane in cosmetic products prevented.
Is readily absorbed through the skin but is downright begetting cancer.
What is oxybenzone?
Oxybenzone, also known as benzophenone-3, is a chemical (biological) solar filter which is a (limited range)
UVA rays stops. You can use this filter sometimes encounter under the trade name Eusolex 4360 or Escalol 567
So please read on the side of caution and choose where possible protection product without oxybenzone
(but obviously with other effective filters such as Tinosorb M or S, Parsol 1789 or mineral filters!
Is it absorbed into the blood and can cause endocrine disruption !!
