What strikes me most about the Great #hoefblad are the flowers that emerge from the ground early in the spring, well before the leaf appears. The #bloemen look a bit like a solid wild orchid, at least the male variant. The female flowers grow further and later form high milky-white seed fluff. The unsteady growth and flowering was the reason for the medieval name Filiae ante Patrem, daughters for fathers. The flower that some say resembles the Coronavirus.
