Bird Feeder Crafts
#Vogelvoerhanger
Last winter there was a lot of work for the birds. This happened in the host parent shelter of Ineke with the children. They made several nice things that I can show here in terms of pictures.
1st photo:Bird feeder owls- A milk-custard suit has been used with paint, plastic caps, and of course feed for the birds.
2nd photo:Bird feeder owls made of plastic milk jerrycans. Coloring these owls is done with waterproof markers.
Ineke:The bird feeder owl {1st photo} is made of milk cartons or drinking suits, plastic caps, paint, wobble eyes, popsicle lid. Front insert a square hole. Leave enough space for eyes and beak above the hole. And enough space under the hole for the opening of the popsicle box. Leave back closed. Sides draw and cut out a large oval, BUT do not cut the top. So you can unfold the wing outwards.
Ineke:Milkjerrycan-bird feeder owl. {2nd photo} Eyelets beak and wings are colored or drawn with permanent markers in all kinds of colors. Front and back, cut out an equally large square. It's very easy. The plastic of a milk canister is very soft material. On the sides draw a large oval. Cut this,BUTat the top (so do not cut there). This way you can unfold the wing outwards. For the sticks, wooden disposable chinese chopsticks are used. Make small hole in the cap. Double string through it, so that a loop is formed. On the inside of the cap in the string (with loop) tie a knot. Put the cap back on, and so it can be hung anywhere.
Tip:Make sure you hang your bird feed hanger in a place where no cat can join.
