Black and white in landscapes - part 3
In my series of special landscapes that, despite the removal of colour, remain special, today I will take you to the lava clouds on the coast of the island of Tenerife.
They are not vistas, but rather details of the crabs that often scurf around on their high legs in the many holes and gaps they find between the lava folds.
They blend in with their environment from deep brown to reddish-brown to black, depending on how wet or dry the rocks are. The animals are more or less the same color. Only those who have an eye for it can see that the rocks are moving.
They are regularly flooded by rolling waves that crash on the rocks.
By the way, the whole island has special views: from the snow on the peaks of El Teide, the views over the clouds, the lunar landscape of the heart of the island, the green in the north and the black beaches in the south.
