You often see them during walks: the cairns.

Sometimes they have shapes that resemble males, but most often they simply have the shape of a cone.

They have a Celtic origin and were actually meant to mark the road in the rough areas of the hills on the British Isles. New passers-by sometimes added a stone to the existing building. They could follow the road more easily by stepping from one building to another, where the area was so inhospitable that you could easily get lost.

Others took a stone from the foot of the hill and laid it on top. This refers to a saying that contains a wish of happiness. (In Scottish: 'I will put a stone on your caim. ' That's how a building grew there.
