#KORENBLOEM 😍 The cornflower, also known as wild cornflower, is a 30-60 cm tall annual plant from the composites family. The cornflower owes its name to the traditional growing place; in fields between the grain. Because the plant needed little space, it could survive here among the high grain. Due to the cultivation with purified seed, the plant is virtually no longer present in this environment. In roadsides of inland roads the blue flowers can still be found regularly. The species is even increasing, probably because many roadsides are mowed less often than before.
By the time I took this picture, the cornflowers were almost completely blossomed.. next year better!
