Bridge Gral Rafael Urdaneta
The General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge, also locally called the bridge over the Lake, is a bridge that crosses the narrowest part of Lake Maracaibo, in Zulia, in northwestern Venezuela, and connects the city of Maracaibo with the rest of the country. He was named in honor of General Rafael Urdaneta, Zulian hero of Venezuela's independence. It is one of the largest in the world in its kind, the second longest in Latin America, only after the Rio-Niterói Bridge in Brazil and occupies the number 65 of the longest in the world. #fotografadelanaturaleza #belleza #vzla #maracaibodegayesterday #concreto

Diseñado por el ingeniero italiano Riccardo Morandi y posteriormente modificado por el Consorcio Puente Maracaibo "CPM" (Precomprimido C.A. venezolana 50% participación y lÃder, Wayss & Freytag A.G. y Julius Berger, Phillip Holtzman A.G. el otro 50%), fue construido en hormigón armado y pretensado, y tiene una longitud de 8678 m y 134 pilares.
