The construction of the bridge over the lake (Rafael Urdaneta bridge)
Like any project, the bridge over Lake Maracaibo, Rafael Urdaneta, begins with a sketch Then come the bases of the piles
In 1956, the Venezuelan government invited an international tender for the construction of the bridge, where several proposals were submitted, but none were accepted.
Bridge has 135 sections, two of them 235 meters. Its height is 45 meters, which allows the huge oil tankers entering and leaving the lake to navigate under it.
In its construction, 3,000,000 bags of cement weighing 46 kilograms and 20,000 tons of steel rods were used
