I love the English Regency-era (the beginning of the XIXth century), so I could not miss this show on Netflix.
The plot is an adaptation of Julia Quin's novels, a couple of which I actually read about 15 years ago. The books were entertaining yet not so memorable, but the wonderful choice of cast gave new life to the story and oh, the magnificent costumes! Even if they overdid it a bit (in my view) with the steamy scenes.
Daphne Bridgerton makes her debut onto the marriage market and her family has high hopes of success. The Duke of Hastings appears on the scene, the most desirable bachelor of the season, combining wealth and good looks. They declare that they want nothing the other has to offer, but their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits and try to steer their future in the right direction. #whattowatchonnetflix
