to the garage
To the garage?

Ja to the garage. Because a motorized and mobile chassis needs maintenance every now and then.

Unfortunately, I can't do everything myself anymore because of lack of key space. A long time I went to a do it myself garage.where one could rent a bridge and tools and if needed for the man was parts could order. However, in this garage it was expected that you would take the material yourself. Unfortunately this one is no longer there and the do it yourself garages I know oblige you to order the parts from them. Often from brands that I do not want to see on the car and at prices far above the prices of the suppliers where I order. So I still do as much as I can myself.
Only unfortunately will then be at home in the driveway or in the garage if it is so empty that a car fits. But in the absence of grease well, not everything is possible. As a result, there are often car parts and tools lying over the driveway. For the things I can't do myself at home I have a familiar garage where the cars also go for the APK. As you can see, there are different brands and types of movable motorized mounts.
Yes from myself but also from others. I would like to rent a bridge with tools in the area again without obliging me to take away the parts from this garage. Until then, I leave the difficult jobs to a garage and do the less difficult jobs myself. Here is a small overview of key time. Replacing the shock absorbers of a Toyota Starlet. This car was at the time of a friend and together we went to work. Now and then it was against but after 7 hours were the shock absorbers replaced the axle covers for also immediately packed and when we were busy also the car but a big turn given. This is very satisfying I can tell. So I can also tell you that we started with the shock absorbers behind but that a few APK points came out.
Well, the two of us were good to do. It was a bit against every now and then but we did not let us know. and yes, after our key day, the Starlet was approved on the APK. Later we replaced the radiator of this car again because it leaked a little (it ran out faster than you could refill 😉) Well, then you get the question but what did you do? Well, a lot of things, and I'll do it if it happens, as far as I don't need a bridge.. Well, what else do besides replacing shock absorbers?

The next one.

To begin with, remove the oil drain plug followed by running away from the old oil. This may take a while. In this case, four and a half liters came out of it.

After this is the replacement of the oil filter. Yes, and if it's halfway through the engine and you can't reach it from the top, you do it from below which is not always easy. In this case there were some engine parts left and right in the way. For example, there was a v-belt in the way and because it was replaced not so long ago. And because I didn't want to take it off, it was a little harder to release the oil filter. And yes I have turned up a new oil filter again, even with a little effort 😊

Well and also replace the air filter. As you can see, it was time that it was replaced. For the viewer on the right the old air filter. big difference from the new air filter you can view on the left. And though it does not seem so the filters are really the same size. It's amazing how a tan can make something different in big, isn't it?

If you have let the oil run out, fitted the drain plug with new ring, replaced the oil filter and also renewed the air filter what do you do? Yeah, you fill up the oil or it's not gonna be okay if you're gonna drive. So as you can see I have poured oil into the engine anyway 😖

And if you have the car on the bridge, what are you doing? ? Then you run the whole car. Well, the rubbers of the exhaust were a little bursting after almost 20 years and perished. So after an emergency repair with rope still hung the exhaust in new rubbers saves a lot of noise and clapping I can tell. 😊

For the people who think, what the hell is that? . Well, this was my old loyal Renault 19. One of the finest cars I've ever driven.

Other work that happens and not always just as you see here has been replaced of parts that are faulty or worn out. As you can see from my face and posture, it's not always easy either.

As I said, I cannot carry out all this work at home because of the lack of a well or bridge.

If someone knows a key place for me in the region of Roermond-Maasbracht-Weert preferably with bridge and where I can take my own parts (that is a must) then I would like to know.

Victor.
